Resin repair systems for rotten timbers

A lot of wooden doors and windows, especially on older properties, can dry out or rot in very localised areas due to a variety of causes. Drilling out knots, patching up rotten timber, splicing in and replacing beading or architrave is now part of an experienced painter's repertoire and repairs are carried out with painting in mind.

Timber repairs

Resin repair systems allow rotten wood to be removed and reliably repaired without replacing complicated component timbers.

These types of repair are used on National Trust and English Heritage properties and the manufacturers guarantee the product for 10 years.

This is a costly product but, used sensibly, it is a much cheaper option than getting a carpenter in for a relatively small job.

Shown below are some examples of repairs, using resin, from start to finish (you should be able to scroll across through the pictures)
